I am having the chimney breast removed in my bedroom so no need for this lovely fire surround which I restored and fitted 20 years ago. The centre wooden piece is painted with blackbard paint and can easily be removed. About 12 years ago I dropped a very heavy metal mirror frame on the top and took a chunk out. This is a very simple repair which I never got round to as I had an ornament covering it. Hence the lower price than comparable ones which sell for over £300.
